Davis Square Architects partnered with Coalition for a Better Acre on Welcome Home Apartments, a new construction, three-building rental development totaling 27 units – seven of which are fully accessible – to address the high-quality affordable housing demand for veterans and their families. One building is two stories with 18 studio apartments; the other two buildings are three stories, one with six one-bedroom apartments; the other featuring one two-bedroom and two three-bedroom apartments.
The development is a welcome addition to the neighborhood, utilizing two former vacant lots and an underused parking lot. Residents can also easily access the MBTA Commuter Rail, as well as Veterans’ Northeast Outreach Center services such as job readiness training, community meals, and health and wellness classes.
