Davis Square Architects teamed up with Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción (IBA) on renovations to Viviendas Apartments, an affordable 181-unit development in Boston’s South End. The project scope includes extensive structural and exterior improvements, and also features the addition of an underground stormwater infiltration system. The renovations will preserve an important neighborhood resource, as rents have skyrocketed and affordable options are scarce in the South End.
Originally built in the 1960s, Viviendas is one of four properties comprising Villa Victoria, a 435-unit affordable housing community offering a specialized range of residential services, to which Viviendas residents have full access.
