Info
Treehouse at Easthampton Meadow is a unique and diverse intergenerational community that offers affordable rental apartments for families who are fostering or adopting children through the Department of Children and Families (DCF) as well as older adults who contribute to the community as involved neighbors and honorary grandparents. The award-winning Treehouse development is a supportive and active environment, located on a beautiful 46-acre site near Mount Tom.
Davis Square Architects is currently working on a Deep Energy Retrofit (DER), which involves a dramatic upgrading of the thermal envelope and systems, with a detailed focus on reducing the fossil fuel dependence of the entire Treehouse planned neighborhood. New rigid wood-fiber wall insulation, spray foam roof insulation to bring attic systems within the thermal envelope, and triple-pane windows — along with the complete electrification of all mechanical systems — will result in a project that demonstrates how to radically reduce the carbon footprint of an existing development.
