Situated on a 38-acre peninsula on Lake Cochichewick in North Andover, MA, the Rolling Ridge Retreat & Conference Center is a peaceful setting for those in search of a time of rest and reflection. However, over the last 60 years, the Georgian estate and its sculptural fountains have suffered from degradation and wear. Davis Square Architects worked with the director on renovations to restore the architecture and bring cutting-edge efficiency to these historical buildings. In addition to the renovations, a new residential wing, pool building, lakeside chapel, and interior reconfiguration of their main program building for accessibility were also explored. The landscape, originally designed by Fletcher Steele, was carefully restored.

These historically sensitive repairs and energy efficiency improvements saved Rolling Ridge approximately 45% on energy consumption and 33% on water usage, dramatically decreasing its operating expenses and environmental footprint.
