Davis Square Architects worked with the Caribbean Integration Community Development and the Planning Office for Urban Affairs on Morton Station Village, a 40-unit mixed-income development in Mattapan. Formerly home to a Boston Police Department station, the 34,000 sf site had been sitting vacant and unused for some time.
The development revitalizes the neighborhood by bringing new economic and social investment to the area; it is also located adjacent to the future 8,000 sf Steven P. Odom Serenity Garden, which will honor the late 13-year-old Dorchester resident who was an innocent victim of gun violence. Morton Station Village is also directly across the street from the Morton Street Commuter Rail Station, making it an ideal transit-oriented development.
