Make-It Springfield is a community incubator and workshop space for people to make, create and share their skills and tools, providing a platform for community members of all backgrounds to learn, build relationships, launch businesses and inspire one another. When they outgrew their current makerspace, they teamed up with Davis Square Architects on the substantial renovation of four levels totaling 10,300 sf in an historic building in downtown Springfield that dates back to the 1920s. The new makerspace provides workshop, display, classroom, presentation, and assembly spaces, as well as related accessory spaces for craftspeople, artisans, and artists.

An exciting step in the rejuvenation of downtown Springfield, the project includes mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety updates as well as masonry repairs, renovation of finishes, and new walls, equipment, and furnishings.
