Kenwyn Apartments and Quadrangle Court

Davis Square Architects worked with Way Finders (formerly HAPHousing) on preserving 60 affordable units in three buildings located in Springfield’s Quadrangle-Mattoon Street Historic District. Kenwyn Apartments is a four-story, 27-unit building. The scope of work included envelope and masonry repair, abatement, roof and window replacement, life safety and accessibility upgrades, the repair and reconstruction of rear porches, as well as select repairs to stairwells and the laundry room. Select kitchens and bathrooms were also replaced.

Built in 1926, Quadrangle Court is 33 apartments in two four-story buildings, and is listed on the state and National Register of Historic Places. Work included masonry repair, window replacement, abatement, and re-grading of the rear parking lot and sidewalk for ADA compliance. The management office in the basement was also renovated.
