Jamaica Plain Apartments is a scattered site, historic multi-family affordable rental housing development comprised of 11 buildings, containing a total of 103 units. The buildings were about a century old, so many of their components and systems were approaching the end of their useful lives. Davis Square Architects worked with Urban Edge to revitalize these apartments. The scope of work included historic masonry restoration, adding insulation at exterior walls, roof repairs, new roofing, re-sealing of all exterior openings, new bathrooms in all units, new laundry facilities, and converting five units to accessible apartments.
