Forge Ice Cream Bar is the latest addition to the Somerville-based eatery fleet owned by Tucker Lewis and Jennifer Park, the owners of Diesel Café and Bloc 11. Located directly next door to Forge Baking Company, customers enjoy delicious versions of classic ice cream flavors as well as creative combinations incorporating Forge’s baked goods.
The space is the perfect mix of old and new: bright and open with a clean industrial aesthetic, and complemented by the warm charm of a wooden counter, as well as an original antique chrome dipping cabinet, fountain and stools. Adorning the walls are vintage restaurant prints, while the black-and-white tiled floor and retro novelty items such as an actual functioning “Fortune Scale” and old-fashioned cash register at the counter set the scene for a modern-day ice cream shop.
