Aspire Developmental Services

Aspire is the North Shore’s largest provider of services to children with developmental delays. Formerly headquartered in a poorly renovated funeral home, they found themselves in need of a new location. Around the corner from their previous space stood the O’Keefe School, a neighborhood school that once educated generations of children but was sitting vacant and falling into disrepair. Davis Square Architects transformed the school to serve as Aspire’s new home. Incorporating the building’s unique features, our thoughtful reconfiguration houses both standard and special needs childcare spaces as well as administrative offices, plus modern training and therapy rooms.

Areas that once housed below-grade boiler rooms are now light-filled classrooms with windows and doors opening directly to landscaped outdoor play spaces, and the building has once again become a vital part of the neighborhood while serving the most deserving families across northeastern Massachusetts.
