The Tenants’ Development Corporation is currently working with Davis Square Architects to design a new community center in Boston’s South End neighborhood.

The LEED Silver-certified design concept for the four-story building features a multipurpose space on the lower level for community events that can be converted into a gymnasium with a three-quarter-size basketball court, overlooked by the running/walking track mezzanine. Level 2 will house a food pantry, a communal dining area, fitness space, and commercial kitchen for cooking and nutrition programs. Level 3 will house a computer lab, classrooms, and an open space for workshops, classes, events and more. Levels 4 and 5 are designed for TDC administrative offices, and to accommodate additional programming. The community center will also house rotating art exhibits on multiple floors, featuring the work of residents and other local artists.
