We’re excited to welcome Sergey Shurkov to Davis Square Architects as our newest designer!
A recent graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Architecture and a minor in Landscape Architecture, Sergey brings strong technical expertise and a passion for collaboration to every stage of design, from concept through construction. His past experience includes schematic space planning, façade design, casework drawings, and a variety of rendering techniques.
Sergey is currently working on Guild House, a six-story historic building in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood that will be undergoing a Deep Energy Retrofit and transformed into affordable housing. His other projects include a new affordable senior development on Dorchester’s Blue Hill Ave, as well as 733 Broadway in Lowell, the historic adaptive reuse of a former warehouse into 52 units of affordable rental housing.
While at Virginia Tech, Sergey was part of the core leadership team for the Mozaiko Living Learning Community, where he helped foster intercultural and language learning for over 200 students, collaborating with fellow House Directors to run weekly programs that taught Russian at all proficiency levels and strengthened students’ speaking skills.
Outside of the office, he enjoys playing intramural soccer, volleyball, and pickleball, or channeling his passion for technologies into building PCs from scratch. Welcome, Sergey!
