An official ribbon-cutting was held on March 6th for 10 Hyacinth Street, NorthStar Learning Center’s new state-of-the-art Early Education Academy and one of DSA’s current projects. Located in New Bedford, the academy will double the current full-time enrollment to serve 135 children and families, and bolsters NorthStar’s 50-plus years’ mission of addressing academic disparities due to funding inequity and socioeconomic factors through community-oriented, enriching educational programming and experiences. 10 Hyacinth Street features a new two-story building totaling over 18,100 sf, and includes 10 classrooms, a community space, gross motor skills space, offices and conference rooms, and a commercial kitchen.
