DSA had the privilege of working with Abby’s House on the renovation of and addition to an existing historic structure located in the Crown Hill Local Historic District of Worcester. The mission of Abby’s House is to “provide shelter and affordable housing, as well as advocacy and support services, to homeless, battered and low-income women, with or without children.”
The project includes the complete reconfiguration of the first floor to create new office/management space, a larger common kitchen, accessible bathroom, a children’s play area and storage space. The second floor was also reconfigured to add more bedroom space as well as updates to the bathrooms. Exterior improvements include masonry repointing and an expanded parking area, along with new landscaping, walkways, storage shed and an accessible entrance.
We are so proud to work with Abby’s House as they share our goal of providing affordable, diverse, and supportive housing to their respective communities.
