The George Close Building, one of Davis Square Architects’ current projects, was recently in the news. The former candy factory-turned affordable rental housing located in Cambridge, Massachusetts has been donated by LIHC Investment Group affiliate LP Solutions LLC to Just-A-Start Corporation, who currently manages the building. The donation is one of the largest in affordable housing the Greater Boston area has seen, and will help secure long-term affordability. Davis Square Architects is currently working on renovations that will enhance the building’s energy performance and historical stature, as well as upgrade building systems, safety features, accessibility, and tenants’ comfort and well-being.
