Tim Barnett

Tim Barnett joined Davis Square Architects as a designer in 2016. Bringing a diverse skillset, he has a special interest in team design, the environment, and sustainable construction methods. Tim’s previous experience includes housing development additions in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, as well as a School Department renovation in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and specifications and field surveys for several office interiors in downtown Boston.

Currently, Tim is working on Leyden Woods, the redevelopment of an existing community entailing new construction of 200 modular, factory-built Energy Star apartments, as well as site-wide improvements. The project is located in Greenfield, Massachusetts, and consists of 49 buildings to be built in 8 phases. Also among his current projects is Downing Square, a new construction, 34-unit affordable development in the heart of the Arlington Heights, a highly sought-after neighborhood in Arlington, Massachusetts.

Tim graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology with his Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture. He believes in the synthesis of architecture with industrial design, graphic design, and other design disciplines with a goal of enhancing the urban environment. His volunteer work includes curating for the BostonAPP/Lab’s ArtsCommons, a flexible, free-standing, multipurpose artists’/makers’ outdoor space to support a variety of performances, installations and exhibitions in Jamaica Plain’s Hyde Square neighborhood.
