Ross A. Speer

Ross Speer is a co-founder of Davis Square Architects and a Principal of its predecessor, Mostue & Associates Architects. He has over twenty-five years of professional architectural experience on a wide spectrum of projects, including multi-family residential developments, academic facilities, commercial spaces, and childcare centers in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

As the head of the firm’s vigorous interior architecture practice, Ross manages the process, establishing project teams, determining criteria, and then developing creative solutions. These projects range from law offices and software development firms to projects with complex technical challenges such as digital production studios and thermal testing chambers. Working with budgets of all sizes he focuses on practical, long-term solutions that achieve maximum design impact.

Ross has taught architectural seminars and conducted presentations for numerous public and private groups, including the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Rhode Island Housing, and the Enterprise Foundation. Other civic activities include establishing and chairing the redevelopment committee for St. James Episcopal Church in Cambridge, advising his town of Lexington on affordable housing strategies.
