An international community of 100 Clubhouses in 19 countries, The Clubhouse Network provides creative, safe, and free out-of-school learning environments for young people from underserved communities through mentorship and the use of technology. When it came time for them to relocate and expand their Boston headquarters, they asked Davis Square Architects to do the renovation and fit-out of their new flagship location in an historic building, right in the heart of Roxbury’s Dudley Square neighborhood.

The new 3,500 sf space is divided into two rooms, the new Clubhouse Tech Center and the Learning Lab, as well as administrative office space. The Tech Center features a recording studio and sound booth, in addition to 10 programmable iRobot Create 2 robots. The Learning Lab features workforce readiness programs to complement the technology skills kids learn at the Clubhouse, with topics such as networking skills, job applications, and acclimating to a professional environment. The space is open to all youth between the ages of 14 and 18 to explore art and technology, and is a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
