Davis Square Architects teamed up with Lena New Boston on the design of the next phase at Olmsted Green, 47 units of affordable rental housing. With a variety of sustainable design elements and technologies, this phase minimizes its carbon footprint, and is an early adopter of the Carbon Free Boston initiative, the city’s program to become carbon neutral by 2050.
This phase consists of six three-story buildings that include a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Olmsted Green is a 500-unit premier mixed-income rental and homeownership community that has transformed the former Boston State Hospital site into a vibrant, green development.
Bridging the communities of Mattapan, Dorchester, and Jamaica Plain, Olmsted Green is surrounded by lively neighborhoods, parks and entertainment, close to several bus lines, and only a mile south of the Forest Hills MBTA station.
