Davis Square Architects was excited to continue a long-standing working relationship with Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción (IBA), completing the first-floor renovation of their existing building in Boston’s South End for their Early Education Program. Founded in 1976, IBA’s full day, year-round, licensed and accredited preschool is the first bilingual program in Massachusetts (Spanish-English).
Significantly increasing IBA’s previous enrollment from 30 to 80 preschoolers, the renovated space consists of four classrooms, an entrance and reception area, kitchen, bathrooms, gross motor room, staff offices and meeting rooms, and other ancillary space. The renovation also included upgraded HVAC and life safety systems.
