125 Amory Street is the extensive renovation of the existing Amory Street Apartments community, originally built in 1914 as a factory, which serves over 200 low-income senior residents and persons with disabilities. This occupied rehab created 12 new affordable senior units and many improvements to the existing units and facilities.
The building needed a complete overhaul of its failing façades, as well as new windows and upgraded HVAC systems throughout. Most kitchens and bathrooms were replaced, and common areas were updated to provide a range of new amenities, including new laundry rooms, resident lounges, and a management suite.
The building is the first phase of a larger site master plan that includes construction of approximately 320,000 sf across three new buildings, containing 353 units of new rental housing – many of which are affordable.
