DSA’s Cliff Boehmer and Paul Warkentin attended the recent West Newton Rutland Apartments ribbon cutting ceremony in Boston’s South End neighborhood. This extensive project included the renovation of 146 affordable rental units in 27 historic brick townhouses, and was the result of a partnership between the Boston Housing Authority and IBA - Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción. Key project features include life safety, accessibility, ventilation and energy efficiency upgrades; the renovation of common areas; and new kitchens and bathrooms, as well as new doors, windows and flooring. In addition, restoring the buildings’ original historic character was critically important. Congratulations to all!
